Start-up Power for the Chicago, Missouri & Western Editors Pick! Contributor's Pick!
Sixteen UP, former WP, GP40s from the WP group 3528-3544, sit off the KCS in Kansas City in February 1987. UP sent them back to their owner, GATX, who in turn leased them to the new CMNW. As shown they wear a mix of WP and UP numbers and are painted either UP yellow (680), four in primer brown or still in WP green. UP 681, the former WP 3533, became CMNW 3016 and later moved to the Gateway Western with the same number.
