After the Cardinal |
Description: |
In June 2001 Amtrak made one of the seemingly "Annual end of service" announcements due to funding problems. One of the trains targeted was the Cardinal. We decided to shoot it in the outback of Virginia and here's the result- train no.51 heading through La Grange VA enroute Clifton Forge. 159 has eight cars behind it of three different styles- Amcoaches, a viewliner sleeper and a pair of heritage cars. The funding showed up soon afterwards, six years later, the Cardinal still runs. |
