The December 1982 merger of the MP and UP led the DRGW to request, and receive, trackage rights over the MP from Pueblo CO to Kansas City MO. The road would use this arrangement for only five years when its own merger with the SP made the routing unncessary. Here Rio Grande GP40-2 3121 leads a pair of SD40T-2s past Sheffield Tower before turning north towards the KCS/MILW Joint Agency, where DRGW trains terminated. |
