In Feb 1;70 the GN shortened its overnight Minneapolis to Manitoba "Winnipeg Limited" to a daylight train from Grand Forks north, with connections provided by the Western Star. Power was typically a single E7A and arrival from Canada was scheduled for 1100 daily. Here GN 511, fresh off what was now called the "Winnipeg Connection" sits near the depot at Grand Forks in Feb 1970 after having been cut off irom its train.
