| QR 2320, a Clyde/GM locomotive on 3'6" narrow gauge. The heart of QR's diesel fleet is made up of a series of similar units delivered by Clyde from the early 1970s and spread through several different classes that differ in terms of weight and engines. All carry EMD 645 series prime movers offering roughly 1600 to 2400 HP depending on the class; All have been upgraded over the years with modified cabs, appliances and, in some cases, new motors. The 2300-class was modified by QR's Redbank shops from a mid-70s era 2400-class unit with a 2300 HP turbocharged 12-645 replacing a normally aspirated version. |
